Daily Cleaning Schedule
Daily Cleaning Schedule
I’ll start off by admitting that I was never the most organized person in the world. I HATED cleaning, and still do, but I’ve found my own rhythm. Once I found out I was pregnant, I knew that I had to better my cleaning and organizational skills for the sake of my family and mental health. There, truly, is nothing better than a clean home and an empty laundry basket.
Now that I’m a mom, I appreciate every little advice I get from my own momma. One of the best advices she has given me is to maintain a daily cleaning schedule. My daily cleaning schedule, shared below, keeps my home in check during the week. I refuse to leave all my cleaning and laundry for one day of the week, it’s just too overwhelming. I’d rather spend an hour a day keeping up with cleaning than spending an entire day sobbing at how much I hate cleaning. Plus I love to spend my weekdays/weekends with my family to enjoy the outdoors.
Let’s just be real though, my house isn’t always clean. I have amazing days, where everything is impeccable and in it’s place. And on other days, it looks like a category 5 hurricane has passed through my entire home. Regardless, I try my best in continuing my cleaning schedule, no matter how tired and sick I am.
** On Saturdays and Sundays, I stay away from cleaning, since those days are strictly reserved for laziness.**
Counters might be cleaned on a everyday basis but I, sometimes, go days without any messes or spills.
I unload the dishwasher every morning and load it as the day goes on. I run it right before I head to bed.
Luckily for us, we have a garbage valet service that picks up our trash at our front door. I usually place the garbage outside our home no later than 7pm.
Most of my cleaning and organizing is done within the last two hours before I head to bed. I usually wait for my husband, Edgar, to get home from work, so I can wash his work clothes from that day. While clothes are washing, I then continue on with what’s left.
Find what works for you and stick with it! I promise, you will feel happier, less stressed, and anxiety-free when you can worry less about cleaning and organizing your home.
