Daily Gratitude Journal
Being grateful is a quality that I want to fully embrace now more than ever. For years, I’ve been consumed by my everyday life that I’ve forgotten to stop and smell the roses. I have so much to be grateful for: my life, my family, my son, my health, and much more. Do I ever really dedicate five minutes to just praise all those blessings in my life? Never. Not at least to the extent it deserves.
So that is why I’m sharing with you today my daily gratitude journal. I was walking through Michaels, checking out the planners section, when I saw
this beautiful daily gratitude journal. I stood there and contemplated for about five minutes on whether I should splurge on it or not. When I looked at the price, I couldn’t say no to $4.99, yes $4.99! I grabbed it and ran out the door. I had planned to start it on January 1st, 2017 but guess what? I completely forgot. I truly do believe that my pregnancy brain never fully recovered and just carried on to a bad case of mommy brain. If you read my post about my 2017 daily planner then you know I am very forgetful. Oops! Anyway, the first thought I had was “crap, there goes my 2017” but guys, it’s never too late to start anything.
You see not only will this daily gratitude journal help me refocus on the blessings in my life but it will kick off mornings on the right foot. What I absolutely love about this journal is that it has everything set up for you, all you have to do is write the date, fill in three things you are grateful for, and write one affirmation. But my favorite part is opening up to the quote “Start each day with a thankful heart”. An affirmation is a powerful and truthful statement you say to yourself to help promote self-love and eliminate any doubt or negative thoughts. It’s believed that we think anywhere between 45,000 to 51,000 thoughts a day and around 80% of them are negative. Affirmations are a great way to rewire the way you think, especially thoughts you have about yourself.
Some of the affirmations I say to myself are:
⇒ I am fearless. No one can stop me from accomplishing my goals.
⇒ I am an amazing momma, who will do anything and everything for my child.
⇒ I am blessed with an amazing support system.
⇒ I am smart, passionate, and loving.
⇒ I am confident, worthy, and I stand up for what I believe in.
Affirmations are positive and full of love. Don’t worry so much on having long, perfect affirmations but, more importantly, make a habit of infusing them into your daily life. Some days are difficult but remember that one bad day does not determine who you are and your amount of success.
The ONLY upsetting part is that it seems you can only find this Recollections daily gratitude journal in store. I’ve searched above and beyond for it on their website, with no luck. But here are a two gratitude journals to consider buying through Amazon, I absolutely adore them.
Prices do vary but please click the pictures below to check them out!
If you would’ve asked me just 5 years ago about starting a daily gratitude journal, I would’ve laughed. But I wish I would’ve started sooner. Fill your hearts with gratitude guys! You’ll gain a whole new understanding of your life and the world around you.
YOU DON’T NEED A PHYSICAL JOURNAL TO BE GRATEFUL! I bought a journal simply to help me get into the habit of writing it down every single morning. I also love to look back at how much I’ve grown in my own thinking. But you don’t have to do the same as me. You can just wake up, say it to yourself as you get your day started or when you’re ready to go to bed.
Are you taking a couple minutes of your day to be grateful? If so, how? Has it made a difference in your life? Leave a comment!!
