Maskin’ Mondays :]
If you checked out my last blog post, then you know that I’ve recently found a skincare routine that I love and has worked for my serious acne issues. It was a very long list, but each step is vital to helping me fight the war against looking like a pepperoni pizza face 🙂 One important step, that I intentionally left out, is using a detoxifying mask. Once, or twice, a week, typically on Mondays, I throw on a mask for 15-20 minutes, and it makes a HUGE difference. Some weeks I forget, since, well ya know, I’m a mom, and the chaos of life gets in the way. But I’m seriously trying to include this every week, like a #MommyMaskMondays edition on Instagram . Yup I LOVE hashtags, I need a hashtagvention.
One of my favorite masks, hands down, is Shea Moisture’s African Black Soap Clarifying Mud Mask.
Unlike some reviews, I DO like the smell of this mask. Within the first couple times of using the mask, I definitely was able to notice a difference in my skin. I use a makeup brush to apply this mud mask, focusing on problematic areas. This mask doesn’t fully dry out like others do, it is very smooth and softens the skin.
♦ Easily application
♦ Smooth texture
♦ Pulls out dirt without drying the skin
♦ Smell (Not for me, since I do like it)
♦ Texture may be too watery
Right before applying any mask, I make sure my skin is prepped and clean! I also wrap my hair with a tie or in this case, using a spa headband I got from Amazon ⇐ click for a direct link.
Perfect, relaxing way to end the day 🙂
