Skincare Saturday: Daily Routine

 In Fashion + Beauty

For over 10 years now, I’ve been dealing with bat shit crazy acne problems. Not just the normal acne but an intense all-over-the- face stubborn acne that NEVER goes away.

Over $700 later, I’ve FINALLY found a skincare routine that works for me, and can hopefully work for many of you who suffer with acne the way that I do.

FYI, my skin is a combination that shifts between oily and super dry. As of lately, it’s on the dryer side.

The products that you’ll find below are what I’m currently using every single day, twice a day, and in the exact order.

The Neutrogena Cleansing Oil + Simple Miceller Cleansing Water

Before using these, I read tons of reviews on how life changing cleansing oil + cleansing water has been for so many people. I swapped makeup removing wipes and now use either cotton pads and baby wipes along with these two products to remove my makeup. Ever since I stopped using wipes, my acne has decreased significantly.

Mario Badescu

Enzyme Cleansing Gel + Acne Facial Cleanser

After removing my makeup or dirt from my face, I then follow up with my one of my two favorite cleansers. I do not use these two together but if I’m having more breakouts, I’ll definitely use the Acne Facial Cleanser. I highly recommend these two Mario Badescu cleansers.

Naturscrub Cosmetics + Shea Moisture Problem Skin Facial Wash & Scrub

Absolutely LOVE these two scrubs/exfoliators. They both exfoliate gently + leave the skin soft + refreshed. I alternate between the two of them but generally exfoliate about 3 to 4 times a week, since I live in hot and humid Miami and sweat more, yuck!

facial-toner

Simply Sensitive Refreshing Gentle Toner

Once I have a fully fresh + clean face, I then use a cotton pad to apply the toner all over my face. It is super gentle and does not have an extremely strong smell like some toners may have.

Measureable Difference Vitamin C Serum + Global Beauty Care Retinol Facial Oil

I recently added serums + facial oils into my routine and so far cannot complain at how soft and hydrating it leaves my skin. I found both of these at Home Goods for a much cheaper price. So if you’re looking for any facial products on a budget, check their section out.

YES to Grapefruit Correct & Repair Dark Spot Correcting Serum

Another serum that is helping in eliminating some of the ugly scars acne has left behind. A little gooey + drying but nothing a little moisturizer can’t fix 🙂

Benefit IT’S POTENT Eye Cream

I have very, very bad dark circles that I blame on genetics. BUT Benefit’s eye cream has helped bring back moisture in my under eye section. It hasn’t improved my dark circles but I like it and will keep using it in hopes that one day I won’t look like I got punched in the face lol 🙂

Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask + Super Rescue Antioxidant Night Moisturizer

Here are two overnight moisturizers that I alternate with throughout the week. They are a bit pricey but worth every penny as they do help hydrate and smooth the skin out without leaving it extremely oily residues.

*** I’m STILL searching for the right day time moisturizer or one that works for both, so if you have any recommendations please comment below 🙂

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

Occasionally I’ll have some really bad pimples, so I’ll add this drying lotion and within days or even overnight, it’s almost gone. This NEEDS to be in your must have products, if you suffer with acne-prone skin.

Again, this is ALL what works for me but hope that you’ll love them just as much as I do.

What I’ve learned throughout the past few years is that finding what works for you is all trial and error. I was also under the impression that you HAVE to stick with one company, rather than trying out multiple brands, to see a change. As you see, mine range from Benefit Cosmetics to Neutrogena. So don’t be afraid to switch it up girl!!

I wish I would’ve taken a before and after picture so that you can get a better idea at how well these products have worked on me.

PS: I AM NOT AFFILIATED WITH ANY OF THE BRANDS LISTED ABOVE.

Thanks for reading 🙂

xoxo
