Weekly Detox Bath

 In Health

Can you relate with the struggles of being a mom? Just yesterday I went on a bit of a Facebook live rant on all the mom shaming going on and the constant pressure to be “perfect”. I won’t get into full details,  so watch for yourself.

With that being said, I want to share with you my much needed weekly detox bath. It’s very rare that I get some peace and quiet alone time with an almost 11 month old and a husband but I’ve made it a priority. Taking a hot detox bath is just one of the ways I refresh myself after a long and exhausting day.

There are benefits to taking a detox bath, not just to be cute 🙂

Weekly Detox Bath My own version of a weekly detox bath includes these three essential ingredients:

Epsom Salt (lavender scented) I Typically use Dr. Teal’s.

Aromatherapy’s Bath + Massage Oil

Aromatherapy’s Luxury Bath (for bubbles)

♦ Bathtub 🙂

♦ Apple Cider Vinegar (optional)

First, I fill up my bathtub with very warm water, almost hot. While the water is running I get all my other essentials ready: towel, slippers, candle, speaker for music,  and a facial mask. Once the bathtub is half full, I, then, pour two cups of epsom salt, five drops of the bath oil,  generously pour the luxury bath for some amazing bubbles, and about half a cup of ACV (weird, I know). Usually, I listen to some Jazz but sometimes I do like to read a book or just close my eyes to enjoy the moment.

Benefits

Epsom salt, aka magnesium sulfate, is known to draw out toxins, ease stress, improve sleep and concentration, and treat sore muscles, migraines, cuts, and bronchial asthma. Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) helps to soothe and soften dry itchy skin as well as to balance and neutralize the body’s ph. I don’t always use ACV but I do about once every two weeks.

In order for me fully enjoy a detox bath, I do light a candle and grab a vase of flowers to get a serene and beautiful vibe to it. I don’t keep the flowers and candle in there because this is technically Liam’s bathroom and he would, obviously, reach for them lol.

If you’ve noticed, I do have Lush bath bombs but I tend to use those individually and not with the epsom salt, it’s just my preference. But I will definitely talk about those at a later point, They’re AMAZING!

Anyway, I hope that all you momma’s are enjoying some YOU time whether booking a nail salon appointment, getting your hair done, grabbing a cup of coffee, or this weekly detox bath.  “You time” is needed and well deserved. So get your parents , hubby, your in laws, or even friends to watch your baby or babies, and RUN! KIDDING, don’t run but seriously take advantage!

How do you relax when you have some “you time”? Comment below.

If you like this post please like and share with other momma’s who you think deserve so much more!

Thank you for reading 🙂
